We are excited to announce the initiation of the Prevent Child Abuse Oregon (PCA-OR) Chapter. Under the leadership of the Oregon Commission on Children and Families (OCCF) and the Children’s Trust Fund of Oregon (CTFO), this Chapter has adopted for Oregon the mission of Prevent Child Abuse America.

To prevent the abuse and neglect of Oregon’s children.

In 2007, over 10,000 Oregon children were victims of abuse and neglect.  Nearly 50 percent of these children were under the age of six; 12 young children died from their abuse.

Great work is needed to prevent such tragedies. PCA-Oregon seeks to collaborate with you and other advocates and leaders to

• Provide statewide leadership in public policy development
• Create and maintain statewide public awareness/ education activities
• Provide communities with information including evidence based prevention strategies, materials and training.
