The committee, comprised of five leading experts in child abuse intervention, scores each proposal and submits their recommendations to the full Board of Trustees. The full Board makes the final decision on funding based on one, the score awarded to each proposal by the Program Committee; and two, the degree to which the proposal addresses the following priority areas:
- Parent support and education programs, including those targeting teen parents and others;
- High risk families, including those with substance abusing problems, domestic violence problems, or with children with disabilities;
- Under served minority and ethnic populations;
- Under served geographic areas; and
- Replication of proven prevention model.
