Mt. Emily Safe Center

Mt Emily, a child abuse assessment center, will expand prevention services by offering the “Make Parenting a Pleasure” (MPP) skills training program to at-risk parents in La Grande and surrounding communities. MPP is a promising practice parenting curricula offered in weekly, group-based settings that strengthens parenting skills and reduces abuse risk factors in participating families with young children. Project will also offer “Incredible Infants” to pregnant/parenting teens in the local high school.

In addition to coordinating comprehensive services for children and family members, this 501(c)(3) organization provides policy leadership, makes research-based programming recommendations, offers technical assistance and training for partners, and raises funds to provide financial support for programs and research.
